The House Ways & Means Subcommittee on Social Security held a hearing on September 6, 2017 on the subject of Social Security Disability Benefit Eligibility The Social Security Administration’s acting chief of staff as well as several career disability claims professionals testified at a hearing on issues of Social Security disability benefits eligibility and claims processing. The witnesses offered their observations on the claims process and made recommendations for improving the process and reducing the backlog for claimants applying for benefits.
